What is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a clinically effective cosmetic treatment which removes the top layer of the skin to provide a visibly improved appearance.

What can a chemical peel effectively treat?

Which chemical peels do we offer?

Our Young Peel is an anti-ageing peel. This peel is an effective combination of acids to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and fade away imperfections, leaving the skin smooth and renewed. This peel combines L-Mandelic Acid and Lactobionic Acid.

Our Acne Peel is an anti-acne peel. It rapidly brings acne under control and dramatically reduces the risk of future outbreaks. This peel tackles blocked pores, comedones and inflammation. This peel contains Salicylic acid a gentle beta-hydroxy acid which unblocks pores and clears away dead skin cells. It also contains Azelaic acid, this is an anti-bacterial agent highly effective against propionibacterium ( bacteria responsible for common acne).

Our Light Peel is a very effective way to achieve a brighter and even skin tone. This chemical peel gently exfoliates the skin and removes dark spots and hyperpigmentation. The key ingredients of this peel are Phytic Acid, L-Lactic Acid (alpha-hydroxy acid). Choose this peel if you want to remove your sun spots and pigmentation.

Our Glycolic Acid Peels are the perfect peel for a deep and enhanced exfoliation. Glycolic acid breaks down and lifts away the very top layer of the epidermis (stratum corneum). This is a dead layer of skin, once this is removed it will reveal more luminous and fresher looking skin.

What areas of the body can peels treat?

Most of our clients use skin peeling to improve the appearance of the face. However, skin peeling agents are also used to treat pigmentation and soften the appearance of stretch marks and scars. Common body parts are hands, neck, back and chest.

What happens during the peel treatment?

We prep the skin and clean it thoroughly so the peel can get straight to work on your bare skin. We then apply the peel and leave it on your face for 1-10 minutes.

Does it hurt?

No, you may experience a hot and itchy feeling once the peel is on your face. In fact, this is completely normal and should subside quickly.

Will my skin actually peel off?

You may see some light shedding with the peeling process. Full list of side effects, cautions and contraindications will be discussed at face to face consultation.
